Roger Linn Design • Poor velocity response

I've been having some trouble getting a decent velocity response out of my linnstrument, on the latest firmware.

With velocity response set on high, and the touch sensor prescale on 63 (what it came with out of the factory), and with my finger resting on the pad, I can't push down on it fast enough to get more than a 75 velocity. If I raise my finger and strike the pad instead I can hit 127, but I was curious as to if this behavior is typical. On medium velocity sensitivity I can't get more than about 55 velocity without raising my finger. If this is expected behavior, then I'd like to know if anyone has worked on a slower form of velocity detection.

In the touch sensor prescale screen, where you can see pressure data visually, and via MIDI monitoring apps, it feels like the pressure detection is excellent. The current setup is obviously optimised for latency, but I don't mind adding intentional delay to note detection for more consistent performance. Has anyone experimented with increasing the number of velocity samples taken in the firmware?
