Controller Scripting • fx automation controller

hi!
I have been watching the YouTube tutorials but before I get into this I would like to understand if I am in the right direction here...

I want to build an fx controller type thing, which has a box and you choose a position in the box and the channel Panning, EQ & Reverb give the channel a certain amount of each effect based on the x-y-z.

I would like my fx-thing itself not to have any sound but only to control other channel fx. so they would be basically assigned a certain "mix" parameter based on the x-y-z position.

is this what you guys call a "script"? an "extension" or would this be a vst in and of itself with all the c++ and Juce things?

I only code JS and mostly Vue.js. do you think it would be possible for me to achieve this, even if it is ONLY for bigwig?
can it also perhaps be a stand alone JS software on the desktop?
