Hello, I'm a bit of a novice here. I intend to build a drum library from samples using TX16Wx Pro, hoping that I will be able to use my Alesis Command e-kit as a midi input. On the e-kit, the HiHat outputs midi note 46 regardless of of velocity used, the HH Pedal outputs midi note 41. When the HH pedal is engaged, it limits the velocity of 46.
From what I've read so far, I believe this is called a midi control change. This seems to work out of the box for Kontakt drum libraries, but I am struggling to figure this out with TX16Wx.
How can I instruct TX16Wx Pro to make the HH pedal (41) limit the velocity of the HH (46) when engaged? I also would like for the HH pedal (41) to trigger notes independently in case I want a HH pedal ching sound?
*FYI am a noob, so please define any words that wouldn't expect a newcomer to already know
