Quoting myself from another thread but I wanted to post an update.
Rather than trying to fix this myself and losing my warranty I sent the guitar back to the Eastwood UK facility where the residing tech confirmed my assessment. He quickly shipped a replacement copy which he had checked and set up personally before sending it off. Good service!
So then I could finally check out the instrument properly and it sounds great. The resonator and piezo pickup really add a unique flavor to the electric sound, much different from "normal" electric guitars.
But the downside is... Out of the box this tenor is impossible to play for me due to its stupidly wide string spacing at the bridge. My right hand constantly fails to hit the right string, especially when I finger pick.
As you can see the strings are not going straight from the tail piece to the nut but they are angled at the saddle.
A straight line would result in the regular string spacing as found on 6 string electric guitars.
So I have no other option than to ignore the pre-cut slots in the saddle and make the strings go straight over it. Luckily this is an acoustic guitar type of saddle so I can easily cut new slots. Or even better, get a new saddle and set it up exactly the way I like.
Unfortunately the guitar arrived with a loud rattle inside. I carefully opened it up and noticed that the spider cone was loosely touching a bolt, causing a hell of a noise whenever a string was hit.I could not resist and ordered this tenor resonator in a momentary lapse of reason...

It ticks several boxes for stuff I did not have yet:Although I have piezo pickups in some of my acoustic guitars (which sound pretty bad) it should be interesting to mix this with the mini humbucker.
- Tenor guitar: check
- Electric resonator: check (I do own a fully acoustic tricone resonator though)
- Mini humbucker: check
