Instruments • Additive Synthesis: Pigments vs Synthmaster 3 (vs Bazille (vs Cypher2))?

How does the additive engine in Pigments compare with the one in Synthmaster 3? Pigments has up to 512 partials per additive engine, and up to two additive engines. Synthmaster 2 only has 8 sine waves per additive oscillator and up to 4 oscillators per instance, so 32 max I'd assume, but IDK about Synthmaster 3.

I've read that Bazille and (I think) Cypher2 can effectively do additive synthesis too---how do they compare? They're more FM synths. I'm not sure exactly what people mean by additive synthesis in them---FM is similar to additive in that it can add harmonics. So it's "additive" in that sense.

Bazille also has the mapping generator, which basically seems like "draw your own waveform", which I guess could substitute for additive synthesis....

On Cypher2: "If you think in additive synthesis, Cypher2 can have 32 osc multiply by 3 osc.

Try to fm osc1 by osc 2, add 8 voices, set in transmod unison unipolar +1, and start to offset some values with it, like fm amount, shape, filter freq, env... and you will understand why Cypher2 is unique."

So they must be referring to the "up to 32 unison voices" there, which can be pitch shifted with transmod. But it seems like this doesn't give much control over each unison voice?

Demoing Pigments, I'm a bit surprised to find that I like some of the presets that use the additive engine, and I'm finding them easy to tweak, even though I don't really know what I'm doing yet.
