We often hear of developers needing to devote significant time/resources to go from one plugin format or OS platform to another. For example, Mac -> Win, VST2 -> VST3, Delphi -> JUCE, etc.
Is the nature of audio plugin development conducive to using an abstraction layer, when first developing, which would eliminate, or at least mitigate, these problems?
