I'm trying to set up using a hardware effect unit (Microcosm) - first time I've used external hardware with Bitwig, so I'm struggling with the routing.
I added the HW FX as an insert after a VST synth on a Bitwig track. For the HW FX I chose the Output (Audio Interface OUT to Microcosm IN) and Input (The Inputs on my Audio Interface connected from the Microcosm Outputs).
First query is : the sound when I add the HW FX is much LOUDER than the VST on its own - and this LOUDER sound remains same wherever I have the HW FX Mix knob. The louder sound appears to me to be a doubling of the same VST sound. This surely isn't normal?
Audio Interface is the RME Babyface Pro, so the issue can be there too (RME TotalMix FX). Its hard to troubleshoot when there are 3 different manufacturer's : DAW, Audio Interface, Hardware.
Any suggestions to put me on the right track to fixing this, appreciated.
